The inside of the form is covered in blue metallfic leaf. The pale blue of the upper part suggests shallow water, while the intense deep blue of the lower part, which glows from the sides, suggests depth. The upper part of the lamp is filled with painted bronze wool of various hues giving the impression of plumes of spray that would sit atop a waterfall. The front of the upper edge is cut in an irregular pattern to suggest the sides of a river gorge that the falls have worn away. Twisting metal forms on the front depict falling streams of water, coated in colors of variegated blue and green. The entire piece is finished in light French Blue enamel. This is an exquisite miniature gem.​
